I want to share two simple tips with you to help you sort out your picking on electric guitar (and this actually applies to acoustic as well).
This lesson is for all skill levels. If you are a beginner you can build your picking from the right foundation. If you are experienced player you can refine your technique to work on the principles mentioned.

1. When picking on a single string, use your wrist muscles to control the picking
2. When you move from string to string (like when going up or down in a scale or lick), let your elbow open and close to move the picking hand higher and lower.
